Torneca is abbreviated for Special Nuts and Bolts of Central America (TORNECA in Spanish)
Torneca opened its doors to business in February of 1983 under the direction of Marvin Sossin, founder and the company. Mr. Sossin, who has over 50 years of experience in the fasteners business, first started working in the industry in Toronto, Canada in 1953. He then moved to Miami, Florida where he started a company that exported nuts and bolts to all of Central America in 1975.

Torneca currently employs over 160 people, many of them who were with Torneca when it first started. Because of tenured leadership, Torneca is able to mix experience and innovation to deliver a solid based company.

At Torneca, we have many training programs for our employees and incentives built into our corporate infrastructure as well. Our employees are extremely motivated to give the best service possible to each and every client, which empowers our motto, “Torneca means service”.

We represent nuts and bolts manufacturers across the globe, which include Nucor Fasteners, one of the largest in the world. This way, our clients have the opportunity to buy screws of quality, backed by Torneca’s guarentee, at global market prices.

Besides meeting the worlds need for nuts and bolts, we also sell abrasives, electrical tools, soldering tools, roles, anchors, and a whole range of products for construction, metal work, wood work, and others.

Today, we sell over 2,100 products daily with a fill rate of 98%. We also maintain a large stock of our products in our 3,000 mts2 central warehouse with the end goal of satisfying all of our clients most diverse needs.

To distribute our products, Torneca has a fleet of motorcycles, cars and trucks to deliver to customers not only in the metropolitan area of San Jose, but around the country as well. This allows us to visit and offer our services to over 2000 clients a month, delivering the most diverse orders.

Our four strategically placed branch offices in the greater metropolitan area also allow us excellent access to our customers.

In early 2001, Torneca opened the first Fasteners Training School in the county, of which over 1000 people have assisted and successfully graduated. At the Nuts and Bolts Training School, a basic curriculum is taught about nuts and bolts, educating workers and salesmen about measuring system, different types of screws, types of threads, mechanical properties, etc… The course is completely interactive and is taught by experienced professors.

There is nobody in Latin America that has the experience, leadership and stock that offers the widest variety of fasteners at competitive prices than Torneca.

Torneca’s philosophy is best represented by our company motto, OKY DOKY, in
which we guarantee all of our clients service, speed and quality.

Let Torneca take care of your industrial needs! Call and/or e-mail any of our sales agents or send us an order on-line.

Sincerely,

Marvin Sossin
